Sample Multiplayer Games

We've created a couple of games to show the full range of what's possible on the Nonoba Multiplayer API, and how well different types of games run on it.

Nonoba Racer

A multiplayer racing game created to showcase all the features of the Nonoba platform. Players start out with a old broken car that can be upgraded by purchasing parts from the pimp-shop, payed for with coins that can only be aquired by racing against other players.

The game uses the multiplayer api for the multiplayer aspect. The configuration of each player's car is stored using the Data API. Lap times are recorded with the Highscore API, so you can compete against your friends. And finally, the coins gained in the game are stored using the Ranking API so you can see who is the most successful racer.

Multiplayer Asteroids

A fast paced space shooter inspired by the old arcade game Asteroids, except instead of asteroids, there are other players in spaceships shooting at you.

An oldie but goodie, Multiplayer Asteroids was the very first game we made on the Nonoba Platform, and was the inital trigger for developing the full multiplayer API, when we realised how easy it was to create after all the hard and boring parts were taken care of.

Fridge Magnets

Fridge magnets is a simple toy, you can move letters around on a surface. What makes it interesting is that the surface is shared with other people through the Multiplayer API and so everyone share the same limited set of magnet letters, which creates interesting and fun interaction between players.

Although incredibly simple in concept, and incredibly simple to implement using our API, the addition of the multiplayer aspect makes it a lot of fun, and we think this proves the superiority of multiplayer games over single player games, and the enormous potential in the Nonoba Multiplayer API.
