The Nonoba Multiplayer API is packed with features designed to make it as easy and hassle-free as possible to create multiplayer flash games.
At last, there's an easy way for Flash developers to make multiplayer games. The Nonoba Multiplayer API and the Nonoba Game Server handles all the difficult parts such as server connections, server communication and bringing players together in the same game.
When you develop a game for the Nonoba Game Server, your code and your game logic runs on the server, which gives great response times, security and flexibility.
Because we run your serverside code directly on our cluster with low latency, and because of a very lean and optimized message protocol, it's possible to create realtime games, like shooting or racing games as well as the more traditional turnbased games such as chess or scrabble. As examples, try out the racing game or multiplayer asteroids
Don't worry about sockets, connections, databases, lobbies, registration, databases and all the other boring tedious issues. We take care of all that, and provide you an easy API that allows you to spend all your time implementing the thing that really matters; gameplay, and not doing boring housekeeping.
You only need to concentrate on making the actual game. The lobby and in-game chat is already part of the Multiplayer API, and will be automatically available to the players, making it easier for them to start and join games, and play games with their friends.
As soon as a game has started, that instance of it will get a simple URL that the players can send to their friends over e-mail, instant messenger, Skype or similar. Their friends can then either play as guests with whatever name they choose, or register on Nonoba to get a permanent player name.
To start developing your multiplayer game you need to download our Software Development Kit which contains all the files you need, examples, and a server you can run locally. This means that you can develop and test your game locally without having to upload a new version to Nonoba every time you make a change. And when you are satisfied with your game you can upload it to Nonoba and let your friends test it before finally making it available to everyone.
Your multiplayer game will of course also have access to the rest of the Nonoba API directly from the server code which means that you can control highscores, rankings, achievements, user data and more in a simple, secure fashion.

It doesn't matter how popular your game gets, we will scale it as needed across our cluster of Game Servers without you having to do anything.
We provide you with a single flash file (.swf) file that works anywhere.
